What is Flexi Staffing?

Flexi staffing in the organization refers to the temporary hiring of employees either for a fixed period or till the project is completed. These employees can be from staffing consultancy companies or via agents on a contract basis. 

As per the Indian Staffing Federation (ISF), the Flexi staffing will be expanding by 2021. The staff augmentation rate in India is increasing at a rate of 25-30% per year. Different acts by the Indian parliament like the wage code, the salary act, etc. will help in the organization’s payment structure this will boost the workers to participate in the Flexi-hiring model.

 

Indian Staffing Federation (ISF) an umbrella form of the domestic staffing firms published a report. According to that report, the staffing industry ended FY 2021 with a modest 3.6% growth over Mar’20. In FY 2020 Q4, 1.03 M Flexi staff was deployed across industries by ISF. 

The India Flexi staffing is expected to reach 6.1 M this year from 3.3 million in 2018, it is growing at a CAGR of 22.7% during 2018-21, as per the report “Impact of Key Reforms On Job Formalization and Indian Flexi-Staffing Industry 2019” published by ISF.

2021 saw +31% of growth in the Flexi work model as compared to other formats.

Industries like IT, FMCG, Retail, Logistics, Healthcare, Ed-tech will be seen hiring more via Flexi staffing.
